A lifelong Katy resident since 1981, Natasha Moreno’s deep roots in the community began when her family moved to the Katy area and she entered the local school system in first grade, culminating in her graduation from Katy High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Texas at Arlington, launching a career dedicated to community wellness and safety.
Her journey as a professional educator began at Katy Independent School District, where she served as both a long-term substitute teacher and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) advisor. In these roles, she excelled in developing medical terminology curricula, delivering engaging instruction, and building meaningful connections with students and families. Her commitment to community engagement shone through her coordination of student volunteer initiatives at various public health events.
Driven by a passion for emergency preparedness, Natasha has built an impressive portfolio of certifications from FEMA, American Red Cross, and the CDC, with a focus on public health emergency response. She recently added Fire and Life Safety Educator I certification to her credentials. Her volunteer work spans multiple organizations, including Katy Area Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.), American Red Cross, Harris County Public Health, Harris County Constable Precinct 5, and Special Pals Animal Shelter. Through these experiences, she has gained comprehensive training in disaster services, community emergency response, and graduated from the citizen police academy.
Now serving as Fire & Life Safety Educator with Harris County Emergency Services District 48 (HCESD 48), Natasha combines her educational background, emergency response expertise, and community commitment to develop and implement vital safety programs that enhance community resilience.
