Katy, Texas — On March 2nd at approximately 12:00pm Harris County Emergency Services District No. 48 (HCESD 48) responded to a reported electrocution incident at the intersection of Porter Road and Avogadro Drive.
Upon arrival, crews located a patient who had sustained injuries consistent with an electrical exposure. HCESD 48 personnel immediately initiated medical care on scene. Due to the severity of the patient’s condition, a medical helicopter was requested.
The patient was transported via air ambulance to hospital for further treatment. At this time, no additional information regarding the patient’s condition is available.
HCESD 48 reminds the public that electrical incidents can be extremely dangerous and often unpredictable. Residents are urged to avoid contact with downed power lines, exposed wiring, or damaged electrical equipment and to immediately call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.
