Harris County ESD No. 48 Responded to Reported Pediatric Drowning Incident in Katy Area

On February 11th, 2026 at approximately 12:00pm Harris County Emergency Services District No. 48 (HCESD 48) responded with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) to a reported water-related emergency involving two children at a residence in the Katy, TX area on Creek Edge Court.

HCESD 48 personnel arrived on scene to provide emergency medical care and support. Upon arrival, crews initiated immediate patient care, treatment and transport. LifeFlight air medical services were requested to assist with patient care and transport to hospital for further care.

The incident is under active investigation. HCESD 48 extends its thoughts to the family and all those affected. We also recognize the coordinated efforts of all first responders involved in the incident.


Incidents like this serve as a critical reminder that drowning can happen quickly and silently, especially with young children. HCESD 48 encourages families to:

  • Maintain constant, close supervision of children around water
  • Learn CPR and basic water rescue skills
