Glen Mears started his fire service career in 1999 with the Lake Charles Fire Department in Louisiana. He moved to Texas in 2003 and joined the Houston Fire Department, spending most of his career on the city’s busy southwest side. After 15 years of service with HFD, Glen retired in 2017 at the rank of Lieutenant. He then joined Harris County ESD 48 as a full-time Captain and was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief in 2020.

Before joining HCESD 48 full-time in 2017, Glen served as a part-time firefighter for the Department in 2015. He is also a veteran of the Louisiana Army National Guard, serving from 1996 to 2002. ​
