David Raupp
"B" Shift Battalion ChiefDavid Raupp has more than 30 years in Fire and Emergency Medical Services. He currently holds several certifications from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) and is an EMT-Basic with the Texas Department of Health.
He began his career in 1986 as a volunteer with the North Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department (NMCVFD) located in Willis, TX. He achieved the rank of Station Lieutenant with the NMCVFD and in December 1990 was hired by the City of Houston Fire Department (HFD). While at HFD, he served as Firefighter, Driver/Operator, and as a Captain for the last 15 years of his career with HFD. He retired after a 25-year career with the HFD and later joined HCESD 48.
Chief Raupp has also been actively involved with numerous county fire departments in the Montgomery County area throughout his time in the fire service. He is graduate of the Texas Fire Chiefs Academy and is a Certified Fire Executive. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University – San Antonio in Fire and Emergency Services Administration with a concentration in Homeland Security. In addition, Chief Raupp has taught numerous TCFP classes and basic firefighter course during his career, supervised a high school fire academy, and served as a training officer.
In his leisure time, Chief Raupp enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children and coaching his son’s football team.
Chief Raupp believes in “paying it forward” to younger firefighters with the knowledge and experiences gained from his career. His goal is to give back to the fire service and leave it better than when he started.
