COVID-19 in Our Community

Throughout our region and regions around us, the HCESD 48 team is seeing an increase in COVID-19 cases. Our Community Paramedic Team, EMS, and Fire Department team members are ready to respond to the needs of our community.

In the event you have an emergency, please continue to call 9-1-1, but if you feel sick or are need of primary care assistance, our Advanced Practice Paramedic Providers can assist with the following:

  • Virtual and Tele-Medicine
  • Direct referrals to established or new primary care providers
  • Urgent Care
  • In-patient rehab or skilled nursing facilities
  • Assistance with medication refills, medical equipment needs, or social needs such as food assistance
  • Non-emergent mental health counseling services
  • Medical care and medication assistance for those who are uninsured

We encourage you to contact our Community Paramedic Program at 832-739-6514 for assistance between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Remember, continue to call 9-1-1 for emergencies.

COVID-19 Testing

Should You Be Tested?

Community members should be tested for COVID-19 if any of these symptoms develop:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Muscle pain
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Vomiting or diarrhea

Community members are encouraged to be tested, even without symptoms, if:

  • You live or work in a place where you are in contact with a large number of people
  • You think you might have been exposed to someone with COVID-19

COVID-19 VACCINE INFOMATION

Harris County ESD 48 Fire Department is pleased to announce we will have a limited supply of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines available for our community. All people age 12 or older are eligible to receive the vaccine.

To register, click the link below to fill out the registration form and pick an appointment time. All vaccine administration will be done at our administration building at 21201 Morton Road Katy, TX 77449.

Vaccine clinic dates: TBA

Registration must be done through the link below, we are not taking phone, email, or in-person registrations. If you do not have an appointment, we cannot administer you a vaccine. We are requesting vaccine doses weekly and will notify our community when more doses become available.
